The Repair

Removed the valve cover
Cleaned gasket surfaces thoroughly
Installed a new valve cover gasket
Reassembled components
Cleaned any residual oil from the engine area
Tested engine for leaks
Total time on-site was about 1.5–2 hours.

No more burning oil smell
